Pretty Evening Wedding

MURRAY ANDERSEN A pretty evening wedding took place on August 19 at the Lutheran Church. Palmerston North, when Mabel Emily Andersen, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Andersen, Makerua, Shannon, was married to Sgt. Thomas William Murray (R.N.Z.A.F.), eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Murray, 34 School Road, Morningside, Auckland. The church was prettily decorated in the Danish colours of red and white by Misses L. Christensen and A. Conlin, friends of the bride. The bride entered the church accompanied her father, \ and she wore an exquisite gown of j magnolia satin, cut on slim-fitting lines, j and her tulle veil (hand-worked by Mrs. R. Petersen, sister of the bride) which fell to form a second train, was ! held in place by a topknot of white camellias. A trailer bouquet of white camellias and maidenhair fern completed her toilette. The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. Joy Sather--1 ley as matron-of-hon Our, and a friend, 1 Miss June Prior, as bridesmaid. They were dressed alike in frocks of white taffeta made with fully gathered ; bodices, square necklines and full skirts and trimmings of red. Short tulle veils were worn with red halos, and they carried red trailer bouquets of camellias and maidenhair fern. They also wore gold wing brooches, the gift of the bridegroom. The bridegroom was attended by a friend, Cpl. K. Hall (R.N.Z.A.F., returned) as best man, and Pte. H. C. Andersen (2nd N.Z.E.F., returned), brother of the bride as groomsman. The reception was hold at the Kosy Lounge, where the guests were received by the bride’s parents, assisted by the bridegroom’s parents. Mrs. Andersen received her guests wearing a black and white ensemble, a fur stole, and a shoulder spray of white cyclamen. Mrs. Murray wore a black pin-stripe costume, with red accessories and a shoulder spray of red cyclamen. The happy couple left later (for the north, and the bride appeared for travelling in a black suit appliqued in black velvet, and with which she wore black and white accessories.
