Mies 40 Miles Past Lyons

Received Tuesday, i a.m. LONDON, Sept. 4. The Seventh Army in its great march north has captured and passed the city of Lyons, and is now reported to he 40 miles further north. The city is intact except that the Germans destroyed all but two of the 20 bridges which are the main means of communication in Lyons. The retreating and battered German forces are being mercilessly harried from the air and by the advancing French and American forces and they face the threat ol being cut off by American forces from the north before being able to cross the frontier into Germany.
