Chimney Fire At 11.46 a.m. yesterday the Palmerston North Fire Brigade received a call from a street box to a chimney fire at 6 Cleland Street.

Consequent to tire promotion of Mr. R. H. Newbold to be general manager of the State Fire and Accident Insurance Office, Mr. T. L. Seator has been appointed deputy-general manager. Mr. Seator remains secretary of the War Damage Commission, Mr. D. Morrison, formerly branch manager in Wellington, has been appointed secretary of the department in succession to Mr. Seator, says a Press Association telegram. Both Messrs. Seator and Morrison formerly held the position, of manager of the Palmerston North branch.
