Not Enough Pilots, Guns or Tanks

LAST DESPERATE PLIGHT REVEALED TO GERMANS Reodvsd Wednesday, 8 pan. LONDON, Aug. 30. British bombers are soaring over Germany to smash our cities. “All this has to be said with such cold words because it is the truth.’’ The Berlin radio’s spokesman (General Dietmar) said: “On the threshold of the sixth year of war the greater part of Trance is slipping from our hands. In Southern Prance every step northward by our forces disengaging up the Rhone Valley is ground gained and helps our prospects of establishing a new Arm front after the arrival of considerable new forces. “We are confronted with the necessity of fighting on, which brooks no alternative. This necessity is self-preservation or annihilation Thus, the tooth-and-claw struggle is the law of highest expediency because only thus can we compel the enemy to consider whether his sacrifices and losses are worth the candle militarily and politically..”
