Activity of Bulgarian Partisans Increasing
LONDON, Jan. 6.
Closer ties between hostile peasants and Communists and increased Partisan sabotage are reported from Bulgaria, says Reuter’s Ankara correspondent. There is still no confirmation of news that the Government has been overthrown by a coup d’etat. Yugoslav resistance under General Tito and the help it is receiving from the Allies, together with the results of the Teheran Conference, have brought the Communists closer to the Agrarian Party. The practical results are that hitherto hostile peasants are now supplying the Partisans, who are estimated to number between 3000 and 7000.
