Auckland’s fly plague has been repeated in Northland, especially in the Bay of Islands, where flies of the larger varieties predominate. A possible cause of the visitation is tho lack of modern sewage, plus the excessive amount of rank growth permitted in vacant sections and hedgerows and on roadsides. If tho current promise of an unusually hot January and February is fulfilled .it may safely be assumed that the worst of the fly plague in the North has yet to come.
