Frocking for “The Repertory Revue”

Since the Repertory Revue has been “on the road” it has been proved beyond doubt that it is not only the women in an audience who appreciate attractive frocking, as at every camp the girls have presented the revue, the men have congratulated the girls on tne bright, attractive frocking and the variety of changes rejvealed as the show progressed. In the opening chorus the girls are lounging on the seashore dressed appropriately in j every possible type of sun-suit or holidaywear apparel. Then follows a Hawaiian number with the soloist in a long white sarong relieved with scarlet poinsettlas. This is followed by the ballet who are dressed In short sarongs which are ap- ! pliqued with the same flowers. In the lovely numbers “Begin the Beguine” and “Deep Purple,” the soloist is in a silver white cellophane hula dress, while her attendants are In cellophane replicas of a lovely shade of deep purple. When the old-fashioned portion of the programme is introduced, dresses of the “Lillian Russell” type are worn, while in another number the 1900 blouse and skirt period is introduced, completed with boaters and travelling veils. The ballets are also a feature and a variety of costumes is revealed In a Sailor ballet, a Chinese ballet, a Congo ballet when the girls wear frocks of a “Carmen Miranda” type in multi-colour, and a “Stardust” ballet when they are dressed in blue georgette “stardust” sprinkled frocks which form a lovely picture. Another picturesque number is the “Apple Blossom” number, when the soloist and her six “maids” are each dressed in different pastel shaded organdie picture frocks, which are completed with “yard” wide hats to match. The whole wardrobe is colourful, full of variety and enchanting, and will be a feast for the eyes of all who appreciate colour, line and beauty.
