Big Victories For Russian Armies United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. LONDON, September 2. The Russian High Command revealed the real strength of its four main offensives when it issued the greatest list of successes ever announced from Moscow—the vital points of Lisichansk, Sumy, Voroshilovsk and Krolevets. Outstanding points in the latest Russian successes are: (1) The enemy has been cleared from the whole of the Kursk region. (2) The Lower Donetz has been crossed from the north on a broad front and the Russian lines advanced 20 miles towards Stalino. (3) The capture of Krolevets has brought the Russians to their most westerly point. The Order of the Day announcing the occupation of Sumy stated: “Troops of the Voronej front on Thursday occupied the important Ukrainian centre of Sumy. In the fighting for the liberation of Sumy the troops commanded by Lieutenant-General Chibisov distinguished themselves.” The order then named the commanders and the units which had particularly distinguished themselves and to mark the victory renamed the divisions concerned the “Sumy Divisions.” The order concluded: “For the distinguished military service and skill I express my gratitude to all the troops who liberated Sumy. Death to the German invader 1” Moscow’s victory salvoes were again heard in London to-night by radio listeners. The pealing of cnurch bells was heard as well as the cheers of the population.
