The friends of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Osborne will be pleased to know that their daughter Carol, who is in Lewisham Hospital, Wellington, is making satisfactory progress following a recent operation. Miss AI. Cowan lias been on a holiday visit to Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Massey and theii infant daughter have retured from a holiday at Upper Hutt. Private C. A. Spence is home on a week's furlough. Mr. M. 11. Oram, National candidate for Manawatu, was given an attentive healing at Apili on Monday night when he addressed the electors and outlined the policy of his party. The chairman, Mr. H. C. Mclntyre, proposed a vote of appreciation. This was seconded by Air. W. McKay and carried with enthusiasm. The ladies of the district will shortly be arranging for the packing of patriotic unaddressed gift parcels. The Apiti-L'lu wai'Table Flat quota is 5G parcels.
