Whakarongo
(From Our Own Correspondent.) CoL S. J. Closely, Independent candidate for Manawatu, addressed a meeting of about 10 electors In the Whakarongo Hall on Wednesday evening. Mr. E. Henaghan px-esided. The candidate with the aid of various graphs and diagrams illustrated many of his points. Matters covered in the address included: Guaranteed and compensated prices, land settlement, farmers’ costs and income, secondary industries and international trade. The candidate explained his position as an Independent. At the close of the meeting various questions were asked and these were answered by the candidate.
