Two Young People Injured in Car Smash
CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 31. When a car in which thev were driv- | ing from Raugiora to Feroside left tho road and struck a telephone post at about 2.30 this afternoon Donald Harper, aged about 14, and Beverley Amyes, aged about 17, daughter of Mr. C. G. Amyes, of Fernside, received serious injuries. Both were admitted to h private hospital in Christchurch. It is believed Harper has a fractured skull. The Raugiora to Cust telephone service was iuterfuptcd for several hours by damage to the line.
