Lawry, S.M., presided at s the sitting of the Magistrate’s Court t in Palmerston North yesterday. 11 Richard George Procter admitted 1 stealing a wristlet watch valued at £3, t the property of J. T. Lines. According s to Senior-Detective Meiklejohn accused !, took the watch while he and Lines a were returning from the Middle East on - furlough. Accused was admitted to proI bation for two years. j L. K. Brooks and P. Granger, who 1 were in possession of liquor in the - vicinity of a dance hall, were each lined J £4 with 12s costs. I Two men who were not entitled to
but consumed liquor on licensed premises after hours, were each lined £3 with 11 costs. A cyclist who rode at night without a light, was lined £1 with 12s costs. Peter Joe was fined £2 with £3 14s costs for selling one pound of pumpkin at Sd instead of sd.
