Arson, Derailments, Burglaries, Murders
(By Telegraph—Frees Assn.-Copyright.) Received Monday, 9.55 p.m. LONDON, Aug. 30. A rising wave of sabotage tnroughout France was reported yesterday by the Vichy radio. These outrages seem to many middleclass Frenchmen, Anglophiles and de Gaullists, a prelude to •ffiefr liberation, said the radio. Reports that crops have been set on fire have been received from all parts of France. The derailment of trains is becoming more frequent and bands under Communist instigation are carrying out raids a gains): isolated farms and even against storehouses in inhabited places. Murders in the streets in daylight, assaults against police stations and burglaries in town halls are also reported. The Paris radio says 186 persons were arrested in Compiegne In connection with troubles about returning French war prisoners.
