Girls From Farms
“Somo of our best girls are those who have come to us direct from farms; they are very conscientious,” stated a manager of a bank in Palmerston North at a sitting of the Armed Forces Appeal Board. Candidate Withdraws From Patca Mr. P. B. Fitzherbert, Democratic Labour Party nominee, has withdrawn his candidature for the Patea electorate. In advising his decision in this respect Mr. Fitzherbert says that for personal and physical reasons relating to activity, time and distance, he is unable to do justice to the Patca electorate, and with the approval of his ’ supporters, lie has withdrawn his candidature. Mr. Fitzherbert left Hawera last week for Auckland where, he said, he intended to talk matters over with Mr. J. A. Lee, M.P., leader of the party.
