At the meeting of the patriotic committee, arrangements were made to have presentations forwarded to three local boys who did not have public farewells. -The receipts for tho 1943 appeal showed that the district quota would be filled when a few outstanding donations were received. The matter of a suitablo welcome home to returning men was discussed and it was decided to open a special fund to provide a cash amount to be handed to each • man at a public function. A vote of thanks was accorded Mrs. A. Walls for tho donation of a knitted bed jacket for a raffle for the parcels fund. The school committee met recently, Mr. H. Ellery presiding. It was decided to convey certain information regarding diphtheria immunization to the parents by circular. Tho Education Board advised that the school had again been awarded an environment ceri tificate. The financial statement showed J a healthy condition of the funds. The 1 provision of a dry play area was i discussed and after consideration of a price received, it was decided to approach the Education Board to j ascertain what assistance would bo ! available to the amount of £7O already in hand.
