Four hundred Mexican National Uni versity students demonstrated for two hours against the United States as a protest against the Los Angeles “zootsuit” clashes. The students booe«l Ezequiel Padilla, Ambassador to Washington, and began to march to the United States Embassy, but the police barred the approaches. The «tudente hissed stores with American signs, applauded German signs and jeered at Americans.

Anti-Padilla groups are stated to have played on the feeliggs of the students, but only 400 of 15,000 responded.
