- (From our Own Correspondent.) At the annual meeting: of the Soldiers' Mothers’ and Wives’ Club, Mrs. A. Portmore (vice-president) occupied the chair. The meeting: opened with a prayer for our men serving overseas. It was very gratifying to note that the Shop Day had proved such a huge success. Parcels for local boys an active service and prisoners of war were then discussed. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: Mrs. A. Podmore (president), Mrs. Husband (vicepresident), Mrs. .1 F. Riches (secretary), Mrs E. Barber (Treasurer). Afternoon 1 tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdanies Bowden, Baird and Wright.
