Better Balanced Diet For Army.

A x>lca for a better balanced diet and supply of wholemeal bread to soldiers in some camps was made by Mr. J. B. F. Cotterill in an urgent question to the Acting Minister of Defence (Mr. Fraser) in the House last night. Tho Minister replied that there w T as constant supervision of soldiers’ diet by experts. There was also a cookery training school in the North Island which, he believed, was operating with some considerable success. But whether all Army cooks were thoroughly efficient he could not say. Ho knew that tho officer commanding in New Zealand and also the officer in command of the Second New Zealand Division overseas insisted on attention to diet.
