Received Sunday, 8 pun. LONDON, Feb. 27. Advanced units of the Eighth Army are fighting in the Wadi Zigzag, a rockstrewn, precipitous gorge forming part of the Mareth Line main defence sys- - tern. Reuter’s correspondent with the Eighth Army, describing the fighting southwards of the Mareth Line, says the positions in this area had to be carried crag by crag and peak by peak by troops travelling in Jeeps armed with light artillery. The capture of Trogolodyte and the village of Chermessa, perched on a central peak, brought the Eighth Army mountain fighters twelve miles beyond Foum Tatahouine
