Feilding Live Stock Sale

BREEDING EWE MARKET VERY FIRM STORE LAMBS VALUES EASIER A heavy entry of breeding ewes of mixed ages came forward for the Feilding live stock sale yesterday when values for the aged sheep were inclined to be very firm. Good 2-ths found a ready market at prices ranging from 30s to 355, but many inferior quality lots were offered. A large yarding of store lambs created a good deal of interest and wether lots excepting for the tops were easier. In all cattle sections the market was steady. Fat Sheep. Limited supplies of fat sheep mostly wether mutton found the market very firm for meaty sorts. The best of the wethers made to 27s Id, ewes to 12s Id and heavy lambs to 29s 4d. Realisations were:—Fat wethers: 13 account D. P. Kennedy at 24s lOd and 8 at 24s 7d; 22 account T. Bielski at 20s lOd, 16 at 24s lOd and 44 at 24s 7d; 20 account A. E. Breeding Ewes. A particularly large offering of mixed aged breeding ewes came forward and prices for the aged sheep showed a firming for the better sorts under firm competition. Several pens of female station cattle were sold with Aberdeen Angus cows making to £9 10s and a single steer changed hands at £9 12s Oil. MANGAOHANE SALE

The N.Z. Farmers' Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., report a very successful clearance at the above fixture on Tuesday. All the sheep came forward in excellent condition, particularly the 4tooth wethers. These elicited keen competition and were finally secured by Mr. T. Currie, of Wanganui, at 22s 4d. Outside buyers were in attendance from Waikato and Main Trunk Line and secured the greater portion of the yarding. Local buyers were also operating freely throughout. Good quality fat sheep were in large supply as also were fat lambs. Vealers were yarded in good numbers and a complete clearance was effected at full late rates.
