Kakariki School Picnic
The annual school picnic of the Kakariki School was held in the school grounds on Friday last. There was a good attendance of parents and friends and as the day was beautifully fine, the real picnic spirit prevailed, making the fixture an unqualified success. There were a number of sporting events for the children, sweets, apples and drinks being distributed. The chairman (Mr. F. E. Webb) presented each child with a book for their year’s w'ork at school. The teacher and school committee are to be complimented on the splendid day’s outing arranged for the children. In the evening the school room was filled to capacity for the dance, the music being supplied by Messrs Moore and G. Wilsher, and Miss K.« Golder. Mr. P. Bartosh was M.C.
