New Zealand Casualties Believed light

(Official War Correspondent, N.Z.E.F.) deceived Wednesday, 9.10 p.m.

Patrol activity on Sunday night was the only activity in which New Zealand troops were engaged following the Eighth Army’s majof offensive which opened on Friday night. Scanty news of their efforts have so far reached Cairo since they gained all their objectives by the first light of Saturday morning. As far as is known they have not been engaged in any major action since but have continued to collaborate in the general plan of consolidation ol the Eighth army’s first big gains. Casualties in the initial attack are believed to have been comparatively light.
