Whakarongo
(From Our Own Correspondent.) There was an excellent attendance at a social and dauze held by the Red Cross Society. The M.C. was Air. J. Spall and the supper was in charge of a ladies’ committee. Air. E. Johanson was in charge of the euchre. Competition winners were Airs. Ilenaghan, Aliss V. Hosking and Alessrs. J. Lynch, D. Clarke, W. Alitchell and Strickland. Air. J. K. Paton announced tho result of the recent Red Cross examination. All local ladies who sat had passed with credit. Trooper E. J. Wood has returned to camp after a week’s sick leave. Private R. M. Dawson lias returned to camp after being home on leave. Mr. N. Wood has returned home after spending a short time in Wanganui. Air. G. Spall recently left Whakarongo to go to camp.
