A Chinese “Shout’* A party of Chinese seamen provided some amusing interludes for visitors to the St. Clair Beach, Dunedin. They arrived at the beach in four taxi cabs, driven by -women taxi-drivers, and it was not long before they had a circle of children around them. When the reason for this became better known the ring of children grew considerably larger in no time. The Chinese were “shouting* * ice creams and soft drinks. One memDer of the party raised a good laugh with his attempts to ride a bicycle for the first time in his life. They later left, as they arrived, in a fleet of taxis.
