Meatless Days for Egypt

Egypt to-morrow has its first meatless day which will be repeated hereafter twice a week. This is the most drastic restriction on food the Government has yet introduced. Egypt has been, a land of plenty for two years, but in the last two months lack of shipping has restricted supplies and now there is a shortage of cereals, sugar and other commodities, and prices have risen steeply. The Wafdists blame Britain but their campaign is not widely endorsed.
