Notes of the Day

After a fine spell of a few days coupled with some wind to help dry the countryside, Feilding yesterday experienced another downfall of raiji which broke in upon shearing operations.

At the meeting of Zone E Patriotic Committee in Feilding on Thursday evening a resolution of sympathy with Mr .M. E. Perreau, of Foxton, in his illness was carried, all joining in expressions of hopes for his speedy return to health.

“It may interest present members to know that Mr. John Cobbe was the first member—that is, Mr. Cobbe paid the first subscription to the Chamber, he was the. first president and he remains with us to-day as the only one left of the foundation members,” stated the annual report of the Feilding Chamber of Commerce presented at the annual meeting held this week.
