Sharp Rebuke to Sir Keith Murdoch

Received Thursday, 10.30 p.m

CANBERRA, Nov. 6.

The visit to Australia of General Sir Thomas Blarney had nothing to do with tho suggestion that the A.I.F. should be recalled, said Mr. Curtin, who added that tho Government had no intention of recalling the A.I.F.

Mr. Curtin criticised the statement attributed to Sir Keith Murdoch at a Press conference in New York that Australian naval units had been withdrawn from the Mediterranean to operate in the north of Australia. Mr. Curtin said he did not think any statements about the disposition of naval phips, particularly the movements of Australian ships, should be made public by any private citizen and it made they should be censored.
