Wonder Drug’s New Success

BOSTON, Nov. 4,

Further successes with new forms of sulfanilamide, the wonder drug, in reducing deaths from peritonitis are reported by the American College of Surgeons. A long list of cases showed a great reduction in the appendicitis death rate, due to the use of sulfanilamide during operations. Dr. Thompson reported that, since sulfanilamide was first used in 1940 at Roosevelt Hospital, New York, there has been no deaths from appendicitis nor from complications thereof.
