Complimentary Social at Aorangi
The home of Mr. and Mrs. Graham Parker, Aorangi, was the scene of a very bright social evening last Thursday wjjen some fifty residents of Aorangi and surrounding districts gathered to do honour to Armourer A.C. 1 Walter Stevenson. The guest of honour, -who has been in the Air Force for the past three years, is shortly proceeding overseas to continue his service. The spacious drawing room with its glass' doors opened, bright log fires and beautiful spring flowers was the essence of comfort, and a pleasant evening was spent in dancing and competitions. Items were rendered by Airs. Parker and her daughter, Aliss D. Parker, Mrs. Atrill, of Eltliam being the pianist. Competitions were won by Airs. Atrill and Mr. B. Burne. On behalf of the guests Air. A. A. Clifford asked Armourer Stevenson’s acceptance of a money belt, the recipient thanking Air. and Airs. Parker for their kindness in opening their home for the occasion and those present for their kind thoughts and gift. The serving of a delicious home-made supper and the singing of “Auld Lang Syne,’’ terminated a happy evening.
