New Zealand’s V.C. Honoured

The sergeants’ mess of the 75th New Zealand Bomber Squadron entertained Sergtmnt Ward, V.C., at a smoke concert. Mr. W. J. Jordan (High Commissioner) said: “Sergeant Ward hae brought honour on himself, on hie squadron and on the Dominion. We are proud of him for liis courage, and quickness of thought and action." Mr. Jordan also congratulated Pilot Officer Box.

Sergeant Ward, responding to a chorus of: “We w'ant Jimmy Ward," paid tribute to the ground crew*. “Those chaps," he said, “do as much as we ever do, but there arc no Victor!* Crosses for them."
