Women Workers Needed

LONDON, Aug. 12. The Ministry of Labour will purge

servants from big houses throughout Britain, says the Daily Mirror. When young servants register, tho Ministry will write to their employers asking for the reasons why girls should remain in domestic employment.

The Ministry has decided that no healthy woman is too old at 60 to do a job which would release a young girl for war work.

The Daily Mail says that, because labour is becoming scarce, London women are being taken from nonessential industries and put into urgent war work. A pool of older women willing to work in part-time jobs is being formed.
