Four Axis Ships Torpedoed in Middle East
Received Friday, 9.30 p.m. ISTANBUL, Aug. 7. Shipping circles report that four Axis ships, the Albajulia, Balcic, Salzburg and Capomore, have been torpedoed in the Eastern Mediterranean. The Albajulia and Balcic were torpedoed at the outlet of the Dardanelles when dashing for an Italian port. One is believed to have been sunk. The Salzburg was sunk, but the fate of the Caponier© is unknown.
