PERSONAL
Mrs. W. R. Birnie has been appointed a member of the Palmerston North Licensing Committee in the place of Colonel J. H. Whyte, who resigned on account of military duties. Mr. Birnie was’ previously a member of the board, resigning because of his duties with the Adjustment Commission. The post of Dominion secretary and treasurer of the Plunket Society has been filled by the appointment of Mrs. E. R. Batchelor, of Christchurch. Mrs. Batchelor has filled the position of secretary to the rector and professorial board of Canterbury College and of secretary-account at Canterbury Agricultural College, Lincoln. Her qualilications are of a high order.
