The Germans are trying desperately to discover the secret of Britain’s newpowerful bomb which is causing such devastation in Germany, reports the Lisbon correspondent of the Daily Telegraph. A traveller from Berlin told him that, at one spot in Berlin, War Office experts spent days searching the debris for fragments which would give a clue to the construction and nature of the bomb.
The traveller said that the building in which he lived was shaken to its foundations by a bomb which fell half a mile away. This bomb blew off the roofs of houses and smashed wrindows over a radius of GOO yards.
Tho R.A.F. raids on Germany had been so severe that the whole of the Black Forest holiday areas were crowded with evacuees from the Ruhr and the Rhineland, the traveller declared.
