Border Gash Admitted
SHANGHAI, Aug. 5. The spokesman of the Japanese Army, Major-General Akiyama, stated to-day that a minor clash between Japanese and Soviet border troops occurred near Manehuli a fortnigiit ago, reports the Shanghai correspondent of the Associated Press. He added that the border has been quiet since. In Tokio to-day, the Soviet Ambassador, M. Smetanin, conferred for an hour with the Japanese Foreign Minister, Vice-Admiral Toyoda.
