(From our own Correspondent.) Obituary Another link with the early pioneers lias been severed by the passing of Mrs. Ellen Jane Andrews whose death occurred on Thursday, July 17, at tho residence of her daughter, Mrs. W. F. ’ Pope, Newtown, Shannon. ,The late Mrs. Andrews was tho widow of Mr. Ralph Andrews and was in her 89th year. She was born in Waimea West, Nelson, and lived there until her marriage when she moved to the Marl- I borough district. Mrs. Andrews had a gentle and kindly disposition and was endeared to many old friends. She was a devout member of the Anglican Church for which she worked untiringly for many years. Left to mourn her passing are five daughters, Mesdames G. A. Smith (Picton), G. T. Wells (Rai Valley), J. Picard (Hamilton), W. F. Pope (Shannon) and D. A. Murray (Lower Hutt). There are ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The funeral took place at the Terraco End cemetery, Palmerston North. The j pall bearers were Messrs. W. F. Pope, , D. A. Murray, R. H. McKenzie, S. Pearce, S. Ncwth and J. Newtli.
