Mrs. Linda Bennett’s Career

Mrs. Linda Bennett has had a long experience, and enjoys an enviable reputation in connection with women ’* organisations, and has played an important part in the cultural development of the city.

Mrs. Bennett holds a B.A. degree (History Honours) and during her long association with the Repertory Society, of which she was for three years secretary, has been responsible for many stage productions which have delighted Palmerston North audiences.

She is Dominion Secretary of the Co-operative Women’s Guild, and Secretary and Lecturer for the local W.E.A. Group.

Mrs. Bennett’s father was for 22 years a member of the Sheffield City Council, and her mother (Mrs. Barton) is closely associated with the great Co-operative movement of Great Britain.

Perhaps because of this background, I Mrs. Bennett has always been keenly 'interested in municipal affairs, and her undoubted ability and good judgment should prove of great value in our local administration.
