PERSONAL
Trooper Jim Larnont, of Ashhurst, has cabled after active service in Greece, “safe and well,” which is cheery news to his many friends in this district. Mr. John Gibaut, a well-known Palmerston North identity, is an inmate of hospital as the result of loss of blood following the bursting of a leg vein. His condition is satisfactory. Advice has been received by Mrs. E. L. Brayshaw, of Main Street, Palmerston North, that her eon, Private Ray Danby Brayshaw, a member of the Second N.Z.E.F., has been wounded in action. Private Brayshaw enlisted for service overseas at the outbreak of the war. He was born in Palmerston North and educated at the Hokowhitu School. After leaving school he was employed by a local firm, but later joined the Railway Department. He was transferred from Palmerston North to Auckland and later to Whangarei, where he was working at the time of his enlistment.
