Mannheim Bombed
(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, April 30. The Bomber Command last nignt made an attack in force on Mannheim, an important German industrial centre some 400 miles from London. Among the large number of bombs dropped ■were some of the latest and most powerful types. Large fires were started. Other aircraft attacked oil stores at Rotterdam. One British bomber is missing. Berlin reports that the R.A.F. flew over Southern Germany, caused neither military nor economic damage, but destroyed and damaged numerous houses. Many persons were killed and wounded, it adds.
