Pharmacy Benefits
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 30. The pharmacy benefits commence on Monday, May 5. The Minister explains that a chemist is at complete liberty to co-operate or otherwise in the scheme, and it is possible that in some cases entry may be postponed, but it is not anticipated that this will occur in any substantial number of cases. Only prescriptions signed by a. doctor on or after the commencing date will be available for the free service, which includes all doctors ’ prescriptions. In the meantime, proprietary medicines are excluded, but where there is a British pharmacopoeia equivalent the cost of this will be set off against the cost of the proprietary line, and the customer will pay the difference as will most friendly societies.
