(From Our Own Correspondent.) f Golf Meeting Last Saturday the ladies of the Golf | Club hold a meeting prior to the open ing ou Sunday. The balance sheet showed that finance is in a satisfactory ! position. The secretary for this season is Miss H. Fankhausor and the captain, Mrs. H. Thompson. Nature provided a beautiful autumn dav for the opening of the links. Despite difficult times and benzine restric- . tions there was a largo crowd present to enjoy the beginning Of the season. Mr. J. Fraser spoke of the successful . season last year and he hoped that they would have as successful a one this season. Votes of thanks were extended to the president and officials and a small honorarium was voted to the secretary. The best cards for the day were handed in by S. Deihl and Mrs. H. Thompson. Afternoon tea was served by the ladies. All greens are reported to be in good order and there should be some exciting games witnessed this year. 1
