(From Our Owu Correspondent.! Opening of Golf Season The RaugitiKei Golf {Season opened on {Saturday by Mr. A. W. Ainon. Owing to.the absence of the president, Mr. Ainon welcomed members and wished them a very enjoyable season. Canadian foursomes were played, tue winners being Mrs. R. F. ocott aud A., Iv. Drew. Anglican Church At the meeting of parishioners of tho Bulls Anglican Church, the vicar’s report welcomed two new lay readers, | Messrs. D. M. Campbell and R. H. Lynch, aud expressed the hope that I more services would be held aud the lvalue of corporate prayer would be [realised. He reviewed the work of Sunday schools, and regretted that more assistance was not forthcoming at Bulls. He referred to the death of Mr. J. Ellery, and also Mrs. A. P. Howard who was always a staunch supporter of the church. Miss Lovett was unable to continue to act as secretary, and a hearty vole of thanks was passed to her for her long and efficient service in that [capacity. The church warden's report stated: We havo had a successful financial year. Besides the expenditure [shown in the balance sheet we have !raised a special fund for painting the I church, the sum of £2B being subscribed, [and the cost of painting being I £29 Is 2d. The good financial results .aro largely due to our treasurer, Mrs. Hendry, and the secretary, Miss Levett, who worked hard. Thanks are due to Miss P. Levett and Mrs. Barnett who have attended to the altar flowers, and to Miss Wilson and Mrs. aßrnett assisted by Miss Kearney and Mrs. Carson,

who have regularly played the organ. Miss Levett agreed to continue to organise the annual flower show. Since

the financial year closed the church at Sanson has been painted, and improvements aro now proceeding at Greatford. We must compliment the church committees on these results. Opening of Rugby Season Perfect weather prevailed for the opening of the Rugby season on (Saturday, and a fair number attended to see Marlon Old Boys aud Bulls senior in action on Bulls Domain. The visitors won decisively by 26 to 6, but the home side was below full strength, the blacks taking the Hold with only 13 men, and losing one through a knee injury early in tnc’ first spell. Nevertheless, they held the blues to an eight-point margin at half time, and shortly afterwards I reduced the lead to 5 points. Marshall missed a shot at goal, but McClean followed up fast to secure and score iu tho home corner. Marshall failed to improve. From a scrum Wysocki dashed round the scrum and scored, Marshall goaling aud making the scores: Old Boys 8, Bulls 3. Hutton made an opening and set ijif blue line going, Hunt rounding it oL with a good try iu tho corner, and halftime sounded with the scores: Old P s 11, Bulls 3. On resuming, black 'wards dribbled through and from a 'scrum Hazlewood cut in and scored. 'Stock’s shot grazed the post. Old Boys 111, Bulls 6. Tho blue backs then staged 'a series of passing rushes, but Culpan and Carter held them up for a time. Eventually Hutton raced through to the .home line, where ho passed to Calkin, [who grounded at the posts for Marshall to goal. Old Boys 16, Bulls 0.
