Italian Columns Enter Egypt
PUSH TOWARDS SIDI BARRANI POSSIBLE LONDON, April 27. To-day’s news of the ligating in the Western Desert is conliue-d to activities around Solium. .Several enemy columns, mostly Italiau, have entered Egyptian territory, but all are concentrated with-j in an area with & depth of 15 miles from the sea. Britisn forces are in contact with them and continue to harass them as they move forward. Official quarters say that a push against i>ioi Barrani is not ruled out as unlikely. The Koval Air Force continues with its extensive raids, and Benghazi was heavily bombed again to-mgnt. The harbour works ana moies ana shipping were all bornoed, and attacks were also made on oil tankers. To-day’s communique from British General Headquarters at Cairo says: “There is no cuauge m the situation in the Tobruk area, in the Boliurn area last evening, enemy detachments crossed the frontier at several points. Our light mobile forces remained in contact with the enemy, harassing their advance. Operations in all areas of Abyssinia are continuing satisfactortly.”
