Alisa Aureen Jones, of Lower Hutt, is visiting her mother, Mrs. G. Jones, of Princes Street. Air. and Mrs. Gordon Rutherford and son, of Wellington, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. W. Bentley, Tyndall Street. Air. J. A. Walsh has returned to Pahiatua after having visited his son, Mr. Sefton. Walsh, of Waipukurau. Captain E. K. Winkler, M.C., has returned to the capital city after having spent a few days at his home at Makairo. Two prominent local residents, Mr. W. a. Ransom, brother of air Alfred Ransom, and Mr. J, J. Beech, are reported to be on the sick list. Private William Richard Paul, of Puiiaerston North, who is reported to be a prisoner of war, is a grandson oi the late Mr. W. Mcßratney and Mrs. Mcßratuey, of Pahiatua. “Billy" Paul spent the greater part of his boyhood days in Pahiatua, and as a youngster was frequently to be seen on Pahiatua Bowling Green, endeavouring to draw a shot under the able tutelage of his grandfather, who for many year-, was the caretaker and greenkeeper oi the local bowling club.
