Shooting and Fishing
At a meeting of the Palmerston North branch of the Wellington Acclimatisation Society on Thursday, Air. E. G. Matthews presided. The minutes of the Wellington council stated that it had been resolved to place an order with the Department of Internal Affairs for 609,000 trout ova. It was stated that the ALasterton hatcheries would supply trout fry, and Air. Ware otferd to look after the fry in the pond in the Square. The chairman expressed the opinion that the society could not afford to have a loss similar to last year’s. The matter was held over. Air. W. Woodmore was elected to fill a vacancy on the executive. A lengthy discussion took place on the matter of the liberation of pheasants.
