Diamond Jubilee Next Year
FEILDING ANGLICAN CHURCH St. John's Anglican Church, of Feilding, is to celebrate its diamond jubilee next year. . Speaking of this in his annual report the vicar, Ven. Archdeacon F. H. Petrie, states: “No one can predict when the present war is going to be over, but I hope and trust it will .bo over before the end of 1942. And if so, then I think we should celebrate. our diamond jubilee by making a thanksgiving offering to God of a sum of money sufficient to wipe out all our parochial liabilities. The sum required will be in the neighbourhood of £SOO, representing mortgages on various church buildings. lam mentioning this uow\ because ! can think of no way in which we could better show our thankfulness, and at the same time fittingly celebrate the diamond jubilee of our church. Let us pray that before tbift end of 1942, peace will be restored to the world and we shall be in the position, to carry out to full effect the suggestion I have put forward.”
