Paramount Films
Films shooting at Paramount at time of writing are: “Caught in the Draft,” ( starring Bob Hope and Dorothy Laniour in a comedy of America’s peace-time army; “Skylark,” domestic comedy, bringing together the successful “Arise My Love” team of Claudette Colbert and Ray Milland, supported by Brian Aherne and Binnie Barnes; and “One Night in Lisbon,” with Madeleine Carroll and Fred Mac Murray, who recently teamed together in “Virginia.” Another picture shooting at Paramount is a screen version of Clare Booth’s successful stage musical, “Kiss the Boys Good-bye,” with Don Ameche and Mary Martin in the leads. This is the satire on the search for Scarlett O’Hara. Ameche was borrowed from Fox for this film. Maybe it’s the effect of a war-weary, topsy-turvey world, but in “The Pioneer Woman,” Brian Donlevy, perennial villain, plays a saloon-keeper with a heart of sucli pure gold that he takes care of Barbara Stanwyck’s baby, while Joel McCrca, always the hero, is thg man who walks out on both her and the baby.
