“The Greatest Statesman In the World”!
MUSSOLINI’S MODESTY (British Official Wireless.) Received Tuesday, 9.20 p.m. RUGBY, April 21. In spite of the contempt which Germany now holds for Italy Alussolini still appears to be unwilling to concede Hitler the position of the “world’s greatest statesman.” While sycophantic eulogies of the Fuhrcr on the occasion of his birthday arc still pouring from the Nazi press and radio, the Rome wireless, broadcasting birthday greetings, stated: “Hitler no doubt is one of the greatest men in history, but fate decided that he should only reveal himself after Alussolini had been acknowledged everywhere (sic) as the greatest statesman in the world. ”
