MANAWATU ASSOCIATION The general committee of the Automobile Association (Manawatu) met last night, there being present: Alessr.s. W. H. Brown (in tho chair), T. Al. N. Itovigors, E. R. B. llolben, H. N. Rowe, R. J. Mclvor, (J. *S. Lawson, T. R. Lees, C- R. Murphy and Dr. F. G. Scott It was reported that, as a result of representations made after the last meeting, the inspector of permanent ways had advisod that authority had been given for the necessary repairs tc improve the Albert .Street crossing and tho crossing opposite the Commercial Hotel, and the work would be proceeded with as soon as possible. The acting-secretary (Air. B. L. Ebbett) reported that to date there had been no reply from tho Palmerston North City Council to a letter forwarded after the last meeting suggesting improvements to the local motor camp ground. Replying to a complaint made on behalf of a member concerning damage to his car and clothing through tar-sealing operations on the Porangaliau highway, the Patangata County Council advised that it had decided to make a payment of £4 to the member.
