PALMERSTON NORTH GUN CLUB PREPARES TOR NEW SEASON ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING The thirty-first annual general meeting of the Palmerston North Gun Club was held on Tuesday night, the president (Mr. Al. Kearins) being in the chair. Alembers were present in large numbers. The report and balance sheet were adopted on the motion of Air. E. de Tourret and Air. P. A. Aleehan and the club’s financial position was dealt with in the report, which was as under:— ‘ ‘ Notwithstanding the interruption in the season’s programme caused by the club having to procure a new ground, the committee has great pleasure in reporting that the financial position of the club is still sound. The balance of assets over liabilities at the end of tho previous year was £l6B 14s 4d and at the end of the season just closed the balance was £165 17s 9d. “Being without a ground, the club was unable to hold the Wellington pro* vincial championship, but the club has been allotted the North Island clay' championship for the coming season. “The committee decided to hold a senior and junior championship at the end of last season, the winners being R. E. Cuthbertson (senior) and L. J. Thomson (junior). Two cups were presented for competition, the Drysdale cup by ATr. W. Drysdale, of Auckland, and the Riverhead Tup by Air. Husheer, of Napier. Both these cups wero won by Air. F. Sutherland. “The club’s best, thanks aro due to Air. W. Sutherland for his kindness and generosity in making available the splendid ground now used by the club. Thanks are also duo to Aressrs. N. D. Stubbs,Af W. Drysdale, W. A. Thomson, N. Hanson, O. Husheer, Al. Kearins, W. Weddell. L. G. W. Alillward, A. W. Akers, ,T. P. Hoare, H Farmer, H. follinson, ,T. Davidson, W. W. Cook and E. de Tourret and Aressrs. T.evin and Co., Ltd., for trophies presented for competition.’’ Election of Officers Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows:—Patron. Air. Basil Thomson: president, Air. Af. Kearins; vice-presidents. Afessrs. A. W. Akers, L, O. IV. AHTlward, W. W. Cook, W. Weddell, H. Collinson, F. Farmer, ,T. Davidson, N. D. Stubbs, J. P. Hoare, N. McAfFer and R. Tnglis-Jones; treasurer, ATr. W. A. Thomson; referee, Afr. P. A. Aleehan; handicapper, Afr. N. P. Stubbs: committee. Afessrs. R. F. Scott, F. Seivert, R. Seivert, T. Hayward, F. Sutherland. A. W. A. Barnard. L. J. Thomson, N. Hansen and H. J. Robertson: secretary, Afr. ,T. -B. Sullivan. Afrs. do Tourret was re-elected official rostess. As a mark of appreciation for his generosity in giving the club the use of his ground, members unanimously decided that Afr. W. Sutherland should he elected an honorary lifo member of tho club.
